The world has gone through rapid changes in the past century, what with the inventions like television, telephones- cellphones!-, Zumba, and even scientific discovery like Pluto not being a planet, and of course the introduction of the Polar Bear Club in the 1920′s. With ever evolving technologies, we as people fail to connect with each other instead we glue our eyes to screens and our ears to maybe-lethal-for-our-brains-depending-on-what-university-study-you-read LCD screens. I’ve found it’s also difficult to find your voice among the millions of other voices on the planet. How do you weed through all this stuff and come out the other side as your own person?
I’ve wanted to do this podcast for at least a year now and it’s evolved through many formats as it was being developed. At one point it was a comedy podcast that showcased written for radio skits that would include sound effect fun. The year, 2010, held a lot for me- both of loss and of gain- ultimately, allowing me to grow so much as a human being. I’ve found that I genuinely love people and they have some amazing experiences. Even in the smallest details, there is so much there. Life is a complicated subject, and instead of movies, TV, books, radio commenting or deriving stereotypes, I want to hear about it straight from people who have lived through it. Thus, Old Fashionedistas became a podcast about people and their unique perspective.
Each podcast, I will be speaking with someone different about something new that will pertain to their history or background. This is a part of my 2011 Resolutions. Wish me luck!
